Meet the Team
At The Lookout, we know that our greatest strength lies in our people. The quality of interactions between staff and children shapes everything we do, which is why we only recruit staff who are not only highly qualified, but also bring a wealth of life experiences and a genuine passion for working with children. We want every member of our team to feel proud to be part of The Lookout family.
Our staff take part in continuous professional development throughout the year. This includes essential training as well as opportunities to pursue specialist areas that reflect their knowledge and interests – from Forest School practice to Makaton signing.
Every member of our team is paediatric first aid trained, and we have now achieved Millie’s Mark accreditation, the gold standard in first aid for nurseries.
We are also proud to be a Makaton Friendly nursery, with staff using signing in daily routines to support and model early communication for all children, whatever their age, stage, or ability.
As part of our robust safer recruitment procedures, every staff member also holds an enhanced DBS check, giving families peace of mind that their children are cared for in the safest of hands.
If you are interested in joining our wonderful team, please send us an email to hello@thelookoutdaynursery.co.uk
Nursery Team

Charlotte
Owner
DSL – Paediatric first aid trained
Mum of three and the heart behind The Lookout, Charlotte has poured her love, vision, and endless energy into creating a nursery that feels like a second home for children and families. When she’s not at The Lookout, you’ll usually find her outdoors, walking, exploring, riding her mountain or dirt bike, or unwinding with a well-earned glass of wine! Nature, adventure, and creativity are at the centre of Charlotte’s life, and they run right through the ethos of The Lookout. Charlotte believes nurseries aren’t just childcare settings, they’re places that nurture explorers, thinkers, and dreamers of tomorrow, giving every child the space to feel confident, capable, and completely themselves.

Charliee
Education Manager
DSL – Deputy SENDco – Sustainability Lead – Paediatric first aid trained
Charliee has been part of The Lookout’s furniture since day 1! The Lookout Day Nursery was her first baby when we opened in 2020, and she’s now an actual Mummy to a scrummy little girl who joined the LO family in 2024. When she’s not at LO, you’ll find Charliee exploring local woodlands with her little family and enjoying musical theatre, both as a viewer and an actor! Early Years has always been a passion of Charliee’s, and she believes we are instrumental in ensuring that the importance of early years education is valued within society, just as our little people are valued to us.

Beth
Operations Manger
DSL – Paediatric first aid trained
Beth is a key part of our team, and originally joined us as our Forest School Lead in 2023 before she joined the management team in 2024. Beth loves nothing more than watching her red setter running crazily around the countryside and seeing friends on the weekend. Beth has always had a passion for ensuring children get the most out of their environment, both inside and outside, and has brought her many years of Early Years and Forest School experience to The Lookout.

Cath
Deputy Manager (on Maternity Leave)
Cath’s passion and love for Early Years is clear to see when you visit The Lookout. Cath really understands how important our small people are and how best to support them in all areas of their learning and development, using herself as a resource rather than a ’teacher’. Cath has recently welcomed her own little baby boy so is enjoying soaking up all the newborn snuggles! Cath loves nothing more than channelling inner Italian Nonna in the kitchen whilst making homemade pasta and enjoying a lovely glass of red wine!

Cole
Baby room lead and 3rd in charge
DDSL – SENDCO -Paediatric first aid trained
Nicole joined us with a breadth of experience under her belt, including working with children with SEND. Nicole’s understanding and passion for inclusion has become a core part of how we advocate at The Lookout for all children – starting with our youngest in Nicole’s baby room all the way through to our eldest heading off to school or on their next adventure. In her spare time, you’ll find Nicole running her Visla around the countryside and enjoying a pub lunch after – maybe even with a book in front of the fire!

Bethany
Over 2's lead and Early Years Practitioner
Paediatric first aid trained
Bethany’s fun and cheerful energy is infectious when she’s at The Lookout! Bethany qualified from Plymouth University in 2024, and got straight into putting all she learnt into practice. When she’s not at The Lookout, Bethany loves spending her free time catching up with pals, playing hockey and going on weekend adventures!

Hannah
Forest School lead and Early Years Practitioner
Paediatric first aid trained
During her time at The Lookout, Hannah has grown in her love for the great outdoors within Early Years, so much so that she is training to take over as our Outdoor Lead! Hannah is passionate with sharing all her growing woodland knowledge with all our staff to ensure the children are getting the most of the wonderful outdoor spaces we have at LO. When Hannah isn’t at The Lookout, you’ll find her enjoying holidays across Europe as well as spending time with family and friends.

Hollie
Early Years Practitioner - Baby Nest
Paediatric first aid trained
Hollie’s been working within Early Years for forever and a day – as a Nanny as well as within other nurseries. Hollie has a clear natural, calming energy with all children, but especially with our smallest ones. She clearly wants the best for all children in her care, whether that’s with helping our youngest children learn the life skills of moving and coordination or aiding our pre-schooler’s with their emotional regulation. In her own time, you’ll find Hollie enjoying adventures with her husband and seeing as much live music as she possibly can!

Apple
Early Years Practitioner
Paediatric first aid trained
Apple’s love for ensuring all children are getting the most out of their time at The Lookout is so evident when observing her in practice – whether it’s making a life-sized train complete with chairs or making textured paint with natural paintbrushes in our garden, Apple is always coming up with creative and fun-filled play through learning with the children. On the weekends, Apple loves nothing more than taking her children into the woods for adventure walks and finding muddy puddles!

Sonny
Early Years Apprentice
Paediatric first aid trained
Sonny’s energy, patience and understanding of what every child needs to develop and grow is evident in their everyday practice. Sonny takes the time to get to know every child in their care and gives them all the time and patience they need to grow in their confidence. Sonny has really enjoyed their apprenticeship and all the learning it has brought, but is ready to be a fully qualified practitioner! During their free time, you’ll find Sonny planning the wedding of the year and exploring the Wiltshire countryside with their new fiancee!

Martyna
Early Years Apprentice
Paediatric first aid trained
Martyna joined our team as an Early Years Apprentice, allowing her to practice all her newfound skills in real-time. Martyna has always known she wanted to work with children – probably thanks to growing up with two younger brothers who kept her on her toes! From a young age, she’s been the go-to big sister, playmate, and occasional peace-keeper! In her spare time, Martyna enjoys chilling with friends and experimenting drinking all kinds of wonderful tea flavours, as well as cooking with her family!

Bekka
Early Years Practitioner
Paediatric first aid trained
Bekka brings nearly 10 years of experience of working with children to The Lookout, with a whole lot of passion for all things creative. She loves spending time with the children getting them baking and getting messy with arts and crafts! Outside of nursery life, Bekka enjoys exploring the countryside, going on long walks, and discovering new places.

Amelie
Early Years Bank Staff
Paediatric first aid trained
Amelie joined our little team as a bank staff member in 2025. You’ll find Amelie joining us for all of the fun and learning that happens at The Lookout whenever we need cover for staff holidays or sickness. Amelie is currently enjoying her studies alongside working with us, and loves seeing all the children she works with achieve their goals and milestones, no matter how big or small! When Amelie isn’t working at The Lookout, you’ll find her in the gym training or cooking up a storm at home!

Mila
Queen of the kitchen!
Allegen specific training – Paediatric first aid trained – Food Hygiene Level 2
Kamila (or as she’s affectionately known by the children, Mila) is our queen of the kitchen! Kamila joins us at lunchtime each day to help serve both lunch and supper, as well as assist the children with any cookery explorations they wish to partake in. Most recently, Kamila has brought a delicious guacamole recipe to the children which has been very much enjoyed (by both staff and children). In her own time, you’ll find Kamila camping in the summer sunshine and enjoying a good book with a glass of something cold!
