Afterschool & Holiday Club
Our After School and Holiday Club offers children a home-from-home space to relax, play, and explore after a busy school day or during the holidays. With access to our beautiful garden, woodland areas, and creative indoor spaces, children can choose how they want to unwind, whether that’s climbing, crafting, cooking over the fire, or simply chatting with friends. Each session is designed to feel calm, unhurried, and full of opportunities for discovery.
We provide wholesome snacks, warm meals, and plenty of outdoor adventures, with activities that change with the seasons. The Lookout Club is led by our experienced team, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment where children of all ages can play freely, recharge, and feel part of our Lookout community.
Afterschool Club
We run an Afterschool Club from the Atworth School site, with the option to collect children from the Monkton Farleigh site (by prior agreement) before travelling back to Atworth together. Afternoons at The Lookout Club are filled with freedom, fun and friendship. Children can unwind after their school day with time to run and play on the field, explore woodland activities, get creative with arts and crafts, or roll up their sleeves for some baking. There’s always space for child-led ideas, so the activities often come directly from the children themselves — from imaginative games and den building to craft projects and sports.
We provide a healthy high tea to refuel growing bodies, and the sessions are shaped around what the children want to do, giving them the chance to relax, explore and make choices. Just like in our nursery, the afterschool club follows our free-range ethos: lots of outdoor time, plenty of creativity, and the belief that children learn and thrive best when they are given the freedom to lead the way.
Our Afterschool Club runs from school pick-up time right through until 6:00pm, with a minimum booking of 2 hours. This gives families flexibility while making sure children have plenty of time to settle in, play, and enjoy their afternoon.
We know how busy family life can be, so we do our best to make things simple — whether that’s collecting children after their school-run clubs or dropping them at Bedtime Stories, we’re happy to support wherever we can.
Sessions are charged at £8.18 per hour, which includes all activities, outdoor play, and a healthy high tea to keep little ones fuelled until home time.
Holiday Club
Our Holiday Club runs during all the main school holidays and is open to school-aged children from 4–11 years. Based at our Monkton Farleigh site, children have endless space to explore, play, and enjoy the freedom of the great outdoors. It’s the perfect place for new adventures, fresh air, and plenty of fun with friends.
Just like in our nursery and afterschool clubs, the holiday club is child-led and full of choice. Claire and the team take the time to get to know each child, shaping each day around their interests and ideas. No two days ever look the same, because the children are at the heart of the planning, their imaginations and curiosity guide what we do.
You can expect days filled with variety and adventure: baking scrummy treats, getting creative with arts, crafts and handiwork, woodland games, den building, campfire cooking, adventure walks, and even day trips to explore local events and activities. And of course, we always finish the week with a big party to celebrate!
If you’re already registered with The Lookout Club, there’s no need to fill in another form — just let us know which days you’d like, and we’ll book them straight in. If you’re new to The Lookout, simply complete the form using the button below and we’ll confirm your child’s place by email.
Holiday Club runs every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday throughout the school holidays from 9:00am – 5:00pm. A wholesome lunch is included (a hot lunch when we’re on site, or a packed lunch when we’re out on an adventure), along with snacks and a light tea before home time.
A Breakfast Session is also available between 8:30am – 9:00am by prior arrangement, for children who need an earlier start.
The cost of a full day is £58.50, with everything included.

Claire took over our out-of-school provision in 2021 and from there it has grown and grown! Claire has such a passion for ensuring the children who come to either our after-school club or our holiday club have as much FUN as they possibly can! Claire brings such creativity and warmth to the children and you can see how much they adore her. When Claire’s not running our clubs, you’ll find her enjoying a holiday with her family somewhere hot or cuddling with her little kittens!
