We know that our most valuable resource is our staff team; the most important factor in any nursery is the level of interactions between members of staff and the children and we want our staff to be proud to be part of our team. We only recruit staff members who are well qualified, in both academic qualifications and life experiences, and they are all passionate about working with children.
All our staff members enjoy continued professional development and attend a number of training courses each year, both for functional learning but also for additional skills driven by their knowledge base and interests – such a Makaton, Forest School.
All staff at The Lookout Day Nursery will be paediatric first aid trained and we will be applying to be registered with Millie’s Mark for excellence in first aid for nurseries.
At The Lookout we will be a Makaton Friendly nursery, encouraging staff to sign at all possible opportunities to model early communication to all children whatever their age, stage or ability.
We also support MITEY – Men in the Early Years to encourage equality and diversity throughout staff group.
All staff members hold an enhanced DBS check as part of our safer recruitment processes.
